Mind Facts About The Human Brain
Mind Consumption
We, humans, are the most intelligent species on earth and the fact is that what makes us intelligent is our mind and we only use it by 10%. Not only that 10% usage of the brain consumes 20% of our energy in the body which makes us more fascinated about the mind. In today’s world where your brain is consistently using the energy of your body but you never realize that the brain needs relaxation too, everything that consumes energy needs relaxation, during your working hours take a moment and stop thinking, relax your brain it may start working more efficiently.
Breathing influences the mind
Most people know that how important is proper breathing for human beings but most people don’t know that how breathing influences the mind. This mind fact is most common and uncommon at the same time.
Every little thing during breathing affects the mind whether we inhale and exhaling from the nose or mouth, the intensity of breath and availability of oxygen, etc.
Unconsciously
The mind records everything unconsciously every little detail you think you miss is only because of your habit. To get over it start doing exercises that require concentration and a keen eye for detail. Most of us must have watched the movie ‘inception’ surely it’s science fiction but mind fact mentioned is that actually mind works more progressively when you are unconscious and by the unconscious, I mean not just when you are sleeping but when do something out of habit means unknowingly.
The mind is always awake
There are two phases of sleep: Non-REM sleep, which occupies most of our early sleep at night, and REM sleep, during which we dream. Non-REM sleep is usually considered as a ‘resting’ for the brain, following the waking brain activity. This mind fact is connected to the previous so this makes it obvious that the mind is always at work and it doesn’t take rest until you make it and also it is vital to make it rest for better functionating.
Electrical impulses
One of the most amazing fact about our mind is it transmits information for which our brain uses electrical impulses and create a giant web of electric impulses
Neurons
Neurons are the main cells that communicate with other cells to transmit pieces of information and together they are called synapses. It is the main component of nervous tissue except for sponges and placozoa.
Based on functions neurons are divided into three types. Sensory neurons respond to actions like touch, sound, or light that affect the cells of the sensory organs, and they send signals. Motor neurons receive signals from the mind and spinal cord to control everything. Interneurons connect neurons to other neurons within the same region of the mind and spinal cord. A group of connected neurons is called a neural circuit.
Hemispheres
Albert Einstein was a great theoretical physicist and this mind fact is connected to him because after research on his brain researchers found out that both hemispheres of his brain are connected very strongly by the corpus callosum. The brain’s two halves also known as the left hemisphere and right hemisphere have receptors that are used for various bodily functions. The left hemisphere of the brain is in charge of cognitive functions such as logic, science, and mathematics. The right hemisphere of the brain is attention, processing of visual shapes and patterns, emotions, verbal ambiguity, and implied meanings. Although the functions of the brain are divided on its hemisphere, particular functions to be executed would still need the entire brain. The brain is used in many ways some use for artistic purpose and some use it for analytic purposes.
